We’re in Revival! – Step 2 – Define and State Your Motivation

We’re in Revival! – Step 2 – Define and State Your Motivation

Okay, today’s the day. We’re in revival! And step two in getting started is to:

DEFINE AND STATE YOUR MOTIVATION

It’s very important to define and state your motivation to achieve the goals you’ve set in step one.  If one of your goals was to obtain strong faith, write down at least three reasons why you want to strengthen your faith. I have a few examples below.

To Relieve Stress

According to Romans 5:1, we have been made right in God’s sight by faith in His promises; therefore, we can have real peace in our inner altars with Him because of what Jesus has done for us.  Satan has supernatural power to oppress, depress, and stress people, but he is restrained by God and therefore can only go as far as God allows.  Trusting and relying on God in stressful times is an instantaneous stress reliever.

GOD IS IN TOTAL CONTROL.  Therefore, do not sweat small things or people; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and do not forget to thank Him for his answers.

To Build Confidence

Faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen.  The certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.  If you want to lose ten pounds or fifty pounds, have faith that God will supply you with all that you need to persevere, endure, and stay on the path to achieving your goal.

Jesus is our source of faith and in Luke 17:5-6 He replied to the apostles request for a faith increase with these words, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”  Well, surely if faith as small as a mustard seed can uprooted a mulberry bush, it can push aside a slice of cheesecake.

Step 1 – Set and Write Down Goals

Step 1 – Set and Write Down Goals

As promised, here is step 1 in the Seven Steps to Getting Started shaping your temple.

SET AND WRITE DOWN GOALS

Philippians 3:14 instructs us to forget those things that are behind us and press on toward the mark – the goal which is ahead.  Well, it is much easier to stay on the path toward your goal when your goal is clearly defined.  Whether you desire a closer walk with God, to obtain strong faith, to eat healthier, or drop a pant or dress size, writing down what you wish to accomplish makes it more realistic.

Purchase a journal, jot down your goals, along with the prescribed scriptures, and reflect on them often as they relate to your goals.

Health and fitness has always been close to my heart. Yet with the health challenges that I’ve been facing for the past few years, my well intentions to get physically fit have fallen short. The Bible says that there is a season for everything, and a time for every matter under heaven. Well, my time is now! Beginning Monday, June 4th I will officially be in Temple Revival, taking care of myself in every area of my life.

It is my hope that korikajohnson.com will become your one-stop destination for mind, body, and soul fitness. Come back often for information on my new releases and those of my favorite fellow authors, tips on getting in shape, and words to literally live by.
